1. Search based on product information
Refer to the manual: The product manual or technical manual of the pump usually clearly indicate pump seal types, such as"mechanical seals","packing seal", etc., which is the most direct way.
Viewing nameplate parameters: Some pump nameplates or body markings may contain sealing related information, such as the model with"M"(Mechanical Seals) representing mechanical seals and"G"(Gland Packing) representing packing seal.

2. Judging by structural features
Mechanical seal: There is an independent sealing chamber at the connection between the pump shaft and the pump body, usually with components such as springs, moving rings, and stationary rings. The structure is relatively compact, and the appearance is mostly circular components made of metal or ceramic materials.
Packing seal: There are obvious packing glands and compression bolts at the shaft seal area, and flexible packing materials (such as graphite, asbestos, etc.) filled in the box can be observed. The structure is relatively simple, and the gland needs to be tightened regularly during maintenance.
Magnetic seal: There is no direct shaft penetration structure, and there is an isolation sleeve between the pump body and the motor. It is transmitted through magnetic coupling, and there is no obvious sealing component on the outside. It is suitable for occasions without leakage requirements.
Other types: O-ring seals (commonly used in static sealing areas such as flange connections), gasket seals (used for pump body joint surfaces), etc., can be judged by observing the shape and installation position of the seals.
