The core of customized seals lies in precise matching of working conditions, as any parameter deviation may lead to seal failure or even safety accidents. Unlike standard parts, customized seals require deep collaboration between you and the supplier, with full participation from selection, design to verification.
Five key parameters that must be clearly defined before customized seals
Usually, design is based on the following dimensions, and the more accurate the information, the more reliable the solution:

a. Medium characteristics: It is necessary to clarify whether it is water, oil, solvent or chemical, pH value, whether it contains solid particles (slurry), whether it is flammable, explosive or toxic, which directly determines the material selection for the end face and auxiliary seal.

b.Temperature range: Not only providing normal operating temperature, but also specifying the highest/lowest temperature. Rubber O-rings and other auxiliary materials that exceed their temperature resistance limit will quickly harden or crack.

c.Pressure conditions: including work pressure, maximum pressure, and the presence of pressure fluctuations. The higher the pressure, the greater the frictional heat, usually requiring a balanced design or double end structure to share the load.

d.Speed and shaft diameter: The circumferential velocity (linear velocity) of the shaft is calculated based on the shaft diameter and speed, which is the key to determining the heat generation of the friction pair and whether a stable liquid film can be formed.

e.Installation space: Confirm the radial runout (usually not exceeding 0.04~0.06mm) and axial displacement (usually not exceeding 0.3mm) of the shaft/sleeve, as well as the fit tolerance between the sealing chamber and the end cap, to ensure that the customized seals can be installed smoothly.
