How should double mechanical seals choose flushing schemes according to their layouts

According to relevant regulations, there are mainly two types of layouts of double mechanical seals. In particular, the layouts of mechanical seals are divided into face-to-back, back-to-back, face-to-face and other types according to correspond positions of rotary face and stationary seats.

In addition to the series non-pressurized type, combination of mechanical seals is mainly pressurized double mechanical seals. Its specific forms include double series contact wet seals with isolation fluid 3CW-FB; back-to-back contact wet seals 3CW-BB; face-to-face contact Type wet seal 3CW-FF.

As per this type of layout, flushing scheme the mechanical seal should adopt is flushing scheme 53, which is consistent with the applicable direction of flushing scheme 52, and is used in conditions where leakage to the atmosphere side is not allowed. This scheme can be subdivided into 53A, 53B, 53C and other structures. Components of the flushing system mainly include an isolation tank, a mechanical seal and a pipeline connecting the two.The isolation tank is equipped with a low level switch, pressure Switches and pressure gauges, etc. Under normal circumstances, the pressure of the isolation fluid should be greater than the pressure of the pumping medium, and the buffer solution is injected into the isolation tank, which is then driven by a heavy oil pump, and the pressure of isolation tank is mainly increased by inert gas.

In actual application process, the leakage problem of mechanical seals cannot be completely avoided, which fact requires a regular and reasonable rehydration operation. Therefore, the flushing scheme 53 is mostly suitable for situations where the isolation fluid is not contaminated or the medium is mixed. In particular,in flushing scheme 53B,pressure can be increased by the air bag pressurizer, and the pressure accumulator can be used for liquid replenishment to make up for the inadequacy of the scheme 53A; In scheme 53C the isolation fluid can be pressurized through the piston accumulator, and the pressure fluctuates with the fluctuating conditions of the system, which is mostly used in the working conditions where the medium pressure fluctuates greatly.
