a. Source of blockage problem
In a multi coil spring configuration, there is a gap between each spring. When mechanical seals are used in working conditions containing solid particles, fibers, or high viscosity media, impurities in the media are prone to accumulate and get stuck in the gaps between the spring coils, causing the spring to be unable to compress and rebound normally, ultimately resulting in:
