a. Impurities affect the core path of double mech seal small springs
Indirectly blocking the active space of the spring
If the flushing liquid or process medium in the sealed chamber contains solid particles or fibrous substances (such as wear residue of rubber seals, impurities in the medium), these impurities may enter the sealed chamber with the fluid and accumulate in the compression/reset space of the spring. Long term accumulation will limit the free extension and contraction of the spring, resulting in its inability to provide sufficient end face compressive stress, ultimately leading to seal leakage.
Impurities exacerbate spring corrosion/wear
If the medium is corrosive (such as acid, alkali, salt solution), impurities will accelerate the corrosion of the spring metal material, leading to a decrease in spring elasticity and fracture; If the medium contains hard particles (such as slurry, abrasive), impurities will form abrasive wear between the spring and the sealing chamber wall, and between the spring and the transmission components, damaging the structural integrity of the spring.
Impurities cause chain failures in the sealing system, indirectly leading to spring failure
Impurities may first damage the sealing end face (such as particles embedded in the end face forming a"grinding wheel effect", grinding the sealing face), leading to increased wear and clearance of the end face. At this point, the spring needs to continuously compensate for a larger gap. Long term overload will accelerate spring fatigue and ultimately lose its elastic compensation ability.
