4.Background

To make the double mechanical seal for pump last longer, you can refer to the following suggestions:
a.  Choose the correct sealing material: Select the appropriate sealing material based on the stability of the medium, pressure and temperature conditions, such as ceramics, silicon carbide, etc., to ensure that the material has characteristics such as corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and high temperature resistance, and consider the elasticity and deformation degree of the material, as well as the fitting state with the shaft seal diameter surface.
 

b. Choose the appropriate installation location: Installing on the medium side will make the double mechanical seal for pump more stable and reliable. If installed on the atmospheric side, the sealing surface is easily damaged by dust, sand, and other debris, which affects the sealing density and reduces the sealing performance.
 

c. Adjust the appropriate gap: The sealing surface gap of the mechanical seal should be less than 0.01mm, but it should not be too tight, otherwise it may cause excessive wear and overheating of the friction surface.
Maintenance precautions: Regularly check for foreign objects on the sealing surface and clean them in a timely manner. For long-term use of double mechanical seal for pump, it is necessary to regularly replace sealing surfaces, springs, and other components. Increasing lubrication on the end face of the sealed tank can effectively reduce wear and extend its service life. Do a good job of backwashing the sealing end face to ensure smooth supply of flushing coolant and sufficient flushing liquid. In daily operation, regularly check the operation of the auxiliary system to ensure that the liquid level and pressure of the isolation liquid system are within the design requirements.
