Working principle and leakage reasons of single mechanical seal for pump
a. working principle
Single mechanical seal for pump  prevent liquid leakage through the pressure difference between the sealing ring and the packing. The spring applies pressure to make the sealing ring and packing tightly adhere to the sealing surface of the pump casing, maintaining sealing performance and adapting to small deviations. 

b. Reason for leakage
Installation problem: Unreasonable installation can cause the pump shaft and shaft sleeve to have different axes, or the pump cover and sealing seat to be not tight.
Material issue: The mechanical seal material is not corrosion-resistant, or the material is incompatible with the conveying medium, resulting in damage to the sealing surface.
Improper selection: Choose single mechanical seal for pump that are too narrow in width, lack spare surfaces, have poor sealing performance, or are damaged.
Pump shaft problem: The surface of the pump shaft is rough and the eccentricity is too large, which affects the sealing performance of the sealing ring.
Changes in operating conditions: Temperature and pressure changes cause deformation or fracture of sealing components.
Other factors: single mechanical seal for pump holding pressure inside the pump, temperature rise caused by medium circulation, excessive reflux, long-term disuse without turning, large temperature difference, frequent changes in working conditions or sudden shutdown, etc.
