4. Background

a.Core components and structure
The bellows seals consists of multiple key components, including bellows, sealing ring, static pressure ring, interference fit connection plate, and suspension assembly. Among them, the corrugated pipe is the core component with good elastic deformation ability, usually divided into single corrugated, double corrugated, multi corrugated and other types. The sealing ring is used to ensure that the upper end of the bellows is in contact with the sealing ring, and the material is usually made of corrosion-resistant and mechanically strong metals such as stainless steel or titanium alloy. The static pressure ring is composed of a set of metal rings and skeleton materials, used to reduce the deformation of corrugated pipes in media with high liquid density. The interference fit connection plate is a connector made of stainless steel or titanium alloy, and its length needs to meet the requirements of bellows expansion and contraction. The suspension component consists of screws and other metal parts, used to secure the corrugated mechanical seal.
b. Working principle
The working principle of bellows mechanical seal is to use bellows as the core and achieve sealing through the deformation of bellows. During operation, corrugated pipes need to work under certain conditions such as pressure and deformation. Usually, corrugated mechanical seals require the use of lubricants during operation, which can reduce the friction coefficient, improve the wear resistance and sealing effect of corrugated pipes.
Welded metal bellows seals have good floatability and random compensation, which can compensate for leakage caused by wear, axial displacement, and vibration of the sealing ring. The welded metal corrugated pipe itself serves as both an elastic element and a sealing function. There is no auxiliary sealing ring in the mechanical seal of the metal corrugated pipe, reducing one leakage point; Simultaneously reducing the frictional resistance of the compensation mechanism; In the petrochemical industry, the sealing temperature of welded corrugated pipes is not limited by the auxiliary sealing ring; For PTFE bellows sealing, it can be used in corrosive media.
