Single end mechanical seal components
Main mechanical seal components
Dynamic ring: It rotates together with the shaft and can move axially, tightly contacting the shaft end face to prevent medium leakage. It is usually made of hard materials such as tungsten carbide, ceramics, high alloy steel, hard alloy, cast iron, etc. In corrosive media, it is generally recommended to use stainless steel surface welding hard alloy or new silicon carbide ceramics to ensure its longer service life.
Static ring: Installed on stationary parts such as the pump body, it remains stationary and prevents medium leakage by sealing the end face. The material can be cast iron, bronze alloy, impregnated graphite or polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.
Auxiliary seals
Packing or sealing ring: It is a component that is filled between the fixed ring and the movable ring or plays an auxiliary sealing role. Fillers can maintain sealing performance and wear out on their own to adapt to changes in the friction environment. Materials can be emulsified asphalt, soft graphite, etc; The types of sealing rings include O-rings, V-rings, square rings, trapezoidal rings, etc. The materials used include synthetic rubber such as nitrile, fluororubber, EPDM, etc.
Pressing parts
Spring: It can ensure that the mechanical seal maintains a certain pressure under different pressures and prevent medium leakage. The material of the spring can be high-strength materials such as stainless steel or titanium alloy, and the appropriate spring pressure is used to maintain the buffer contact between the dynamic and static ring end faces.
Push ring: It plays a role in transmitting spring force.
Other auxiliary components
Such as spring seats, anti rotation pins, transmission components, and set screws, they respectively play a role in positioning, preventing static ring rotation, and transmitting torque.
Double end mechanical seal components
Sealing part
Sealing end face: It is the core part of a double end mechanical seal, consisting of two parallel end faces. The structure includes a dynamic ring, a static ring, and an auxiliary sealing ring. The dynamic ring is usually made of wear-resistant materials such as hard alloy and silicon carbide, while the static ring is mostly made of corrosion-resistant materials such as silicon carbide and alumina. The auxiliary sealing ring mainly plays a role in preventing leakage and balancing pressure.
Pressure balancing and regulating device
Pressure balancing device: Its main function is to maintain pressure balance between the sealing end faces and avoid leakage. Common devices include springs, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.
Adjust the spring: Ensure the pressure between the sealing end faces to achieve a sealing effect of 5.
supporting device
Bearings: Support shaft rotation to reduce friction losses. Common supporting and guiding devices include sliding bearings, rolling bearings, etc.
cooling system
Cooling system: Its main function is to reduce the temperature of the sealing end face and prevent a decrease in sealing performance caused by high temperatures. Common cooling methods include water cooling, oil cooling, etc
The above is the mechanical seal components.
