What should be paid attention to during the use of the grinder for mechanical seals production

Grinders are often used in the grinding of mechanical seal sealing surfaces. So, what should be paid attention to when using it?

①The grinding disc is corrected in time. The flatness of the grinding surface mainly depends on the precision of the grinding disc and the grinding motion. During grinding, the wear of the surface of the grinding disc is uneven. Usually, most of the wear of the grinding disc occurs in the center of the disc surface, that is, the middle of the surface of the grinding disc is low. This is because there is a high probability that the center portion is in contact with the workpiece. When the movement of the workpiece spreads all over the grinding disc without exceeding the edge, the final wear trend of the grinding disc is that the center part is more than the edge. If this continues, the uneven wear of the grinding disc will cause the surface of the workpiece to form a middle bulge. When the center of the grinding disc is high, the center of the product surface is concave.

If you want to check the flatness and straightness of the grinding plate,it is more convenient  to adopt the light gap quantity method and the measurement accuracy is high adopting this method. The inspection method is as follows:to wash the grinding plate at the prosecutor's position, wipe off the oil film with the solvent, and then make the knife mouth of the knife-edge ruler to contact the plane; Put a light source at the back of the knife mouth, and then observe the leakage gap between the inspected plane and the mouth of the knife-edge ruler from the front of he knife-edge ruler, which can be determined by the gap in the light leakage.If it is checked with a tulle, it should generally be less than 0.02mm.

② The gap between the workpieces in the control ring should be appropriate. If the gap is too large, the workpiece collision between the workpiece during grinding will cause scratches or rupture.If the gap is too small, the workpiece cannot be rotated with the controling ring. The friction trajectory of each point on the surface of the workpiece surface will be unequal in density, which will affect the flatness of the sealing ring.Too small gaps sometimes even push the workpiece, causing the ground surface to be sloping. Only by allowing the workpiece to rotate smoothly and flexibly in the control ring can the workpiece obtain a uniform friction trajectory on the grinding plate and ensure the processing quality of the workpiece.

③ The grinding disks should be dedicated for a sole purpose,especially in the latter steps of polishing and grinding.That is that the grinding machine used for polishing can no longer be used for fine processing. Because the particle size of fine -grained abrasives are different from that of polished abrasives, if there are fine -grained abrasives retaining on the grinding disc when polishing, scratches will occur. If you don't want to replace the grinding disc,the workpiece after polishing should be cleaned,and it is best to clean and dry it with an ultrasonic cleaner.

④ When the abrasive solvent used is a water -soluble one,rust on the surface of the grinding disc should be avoided. At the end of the daily usage of the workpiece, the control ring should be removed from the grinding plate, and the grinding plate should be washed and dryed . If there is rust appearing the next day on the grinding plate,it should be Wiped off .

⑤ Frequently clean the grinding machine outlets to prevent the accumulating grinding from overflowing into the bearing seat of the reducer.

⑥ The abrasive should be stirred to be suspended to prevent blocking solenoid valves.
