The mechanical seal ring has serious wear and grooves, and the surface of the metal ring has polished scars, some radial cracks, thermal cracks, yellowing or on serious cases turning blue or black. Auxiliary sealing O-ring suffers aging, hardening, carbonization and cracking, etc. There are disc-like concentric textures on the graphite ring, etc.
Cause Analysis：
Pump evacuation, insufficient suction, cavitation, too small opening of the pump inlet valve, blocked inlet pipe, and increased pipeline resistance due to too long suction line will cause insufficient or no liquid between the sealing surfaces of the mechanical seal, resulting in dry seal operation.
Solution：
1. Check whether the flushing fluid inlet and filter are blocked.
2. Check whether the circulation line is blocked, and check whether the inlet pipeline of the pump is too long.
3. Adjust the process and operate stably. Evacuation and cavitation caused by process problems are difficult to solve mechanically, and can only be solved by process adjustment.
