The wear marks of the mechanical seal sealing rings gradually disappear in the two convex areas, and if the rotary face rotates, a wire brush type wear mark appears. The mechanical seal leaks continuously, in both states of static and rotating.
Cause Analysis
The sealing surfaces of the mechanical seal is not straight, mainly caused by stress and temperature.
Solution
1. Check whether the sealing gland is deformed due to the excessive tightening force of the sealing bolt (generally occurs on the sealing gland that is locked at two points).
2. Check the sealing flatness with an optical flat crystal.
3. Check whether the seal flushing medium is interrupted and whether the cooling system fails under high temperature conditions.
4. Control the warm-up time of the high temperature pump.
