After the mechanical seal is installed and debugged on the pump spare parts, the sealing effect can be understood by static test to determine whether there is leakage and the amount of leakage.If possible leakage of the mechanical seal during the static test is small, the main problem is mostly the sealing ring of the rotary face and/or the stationary seat. If the possible leakage is large, main problem is mostly the friction pair.
After such observation, you can manually crank the pump for further observation.If the leakage remains the same as before,problem is the sealing rings. If change is obvious,problem can be the friction pair. In addition, if leakage is sprayed in the axial direction, problem may exit with the rotary face sealing ring, and if it is sprayed around,problem may exit with the stationary seat sealing ring.If there is no leakage taking place in the static test of the mechanical seal,we can enter the stage of trial operation.
At this stage, the high-speed operation of the pump itself will bring about a large centrifugal force, leakage of the medium will be suppressed and reduced, and the probability of leakage will also be reduced.Possible leakage may be caused by the failure of the seal between the shaft, the end cover and the friction pair of the mechanical seal.
