One outstanding quality problem of rotary face is incorrect installation of connecting bolt of the rotary face.
The most basic function of connecting bolts is to connect the rotary face seat with the supporting ring to ensure that the spring pre -tightening force enables itself to accommodate in the rotary face seat.Another function is to regulate the concentricity between the rotary face seat, the support ring and the rotary face surface, to ensure that the rotary face can be correctly installed on the axis case or directly installed on the shaft. (1)Different batches of rotary faces do not use the same connection bolts.
The bolt with a long thread will cause the maintenance personnel to feel that the bolt is not installed in place.If he thus increases the pre -tightening force of the spring,then the sealing effect of the mechanical seal will be affected. If no static pressure test to find such problem is conducted,definitely normal operation of the mechanical seal will be greatly affected.

(2)The not uniform positioning of connecting bolts during installation
The non-concentricity of rotary face seat & support ring caused by the not uniform positioning of connecting bolts during their installation is another quality problem of rotary face. On the one hand, it will be unable to install the rotary face to a shaft sleeve or the shaft itself. On the other hand, when the spring is adjusted, the support ring cannot slip freely in the shaft sleeve or the shaft,making the spring fail to adjust compression amount.
The second outstanding quality problem of rotary face is caused by its inlaid sealing ring. For the inlaid ring, due to the thermal expansion that may occur during operation of the mechanical seal, once the inlaid ring is inconsistent with the substrate in thermal expansion coefficient, that is, the expansion or contraction cannot be carried out simultaneously, the separation of the two will inevitably occur and affect the sealing effects of the mechanical seal.
In addition, preheating treatment needs to be performed during the inlaid process. After cooling, the sealing ring of the mechanical seal may also be separated from the substrate. Although this situation rarely occurs, it is necessary to conduct a detailed inspection during the maintenance process to determine the inlay effect of the sealing ring with the substrate to prevent the following phenomenon:the rotating rotary face’s inlaid face may slip and increase the leakage point.
