 Overview of Dry Grinding Seal:

Dry-grinding seals, as the name suggests, can run dry, with a simple structure that does not require complex lubrication and cooling systems. Dry grinding seal is a kind of floating seal, which consists of dynamic seal (such as mechanical seal) + static seal.

The structure of the dry grinding seal includes an annular seal cavity and an annular shaft sleeve. There is an annular groove in the sealing cavity.There are at least two annular graphite sealing rings with rectangular cross-section in the groove. There is a gap of 0.01-0.04 between the inner diameter of the graphite sealing ring and the annular shaft sleeve. The outer surface of the shaft sleeve is coated with a wear-resistant coating. The coating material is generally Aluminum oxide or chromium oxide. Dry-grinding seals sometimes require additional barrier gas, usually nitrogen. This kind of seals are mainly used to seal flammable and toxic media.

Dry grinding seals are widely used due to simple operation and maintenance, good sealing performance, easy installation, reliable operation and convenient maintenance.
