What auxiliary facilities are used for light hydrocarbon and light oil pump mechanical seals

Auxiliary facilities for mechanical seals refer to lubricating, cooling or temperature-regulating, flushing, purifying, diluting and flushing away the leakage medium to improve the working environment of the mechanical seal by means of flushing, cooling, filtering and separation.Let's talk about what auxiliary facilities are used for light hydrocarbon and light oil pump mechanical seals.
Mediums such as light hydrocarbons and light oils have low viscosity, are relatively clean, have high saturated vapor pressure, and are easy to vaporize. According to these characteristics, the auxiliary facilities used should reduce the temperature of the sealing end faces of mechanical seals and maintain the pressure in the sealing cavity so that the medium does not vaporize.
For this purpose, the most commonly used method is positive self-flushing: a pipe is drawn from the outlet line of the pump and injected into the seal chamber of the mechanical seal. Flushing structures are best done with multi-point flushing. If single-point flushing is used, tangential flushing should be used, and the flow direction of the sealing fluid entering the sealing cavity of the mechanical seal should be the same as the rotation direction of the shaft. According to the requirements of the flushing volume, add a flow-restricting orifice plate of corresponding diameter on the flushing pipeline. Although the medium is relatively clean, considering that there are many impurities in the mechanical seal device at the initial stage of operation,it is better to add a filter upstream of the orifice plate. The entire flushing pipeline does not need to add valves. If the temperature of the medium is slightly high, cooling water can be passed through the jacket of the sealed cavity of the mechanical seal to reduce the temperature in the sealed cavity. If the temperature of the medium is high, a cooler can be added to the flushing pipeline. For light hydrocarbon pump seals, cooling water is not used on the gland to prevent ice from occuring. If it is a light oil pump, cooling water can pass through the sealing gland of the mechanical seal.
This is the auxiliary facility that should be used for light hydrocarbon and light oil pump mechanical seals.
