The following precautions should be taken when replacing the mechanical seal of a centrifugal pump:
1.Since the centrifugal pump mechanical seal is generally suitable for use in a clean medium without suspended particles, the newly installed pipeline system and storage tank should be carefully rinsed to prevent solid impurities from entering the end face of the mechanical seal and causing the seal to fail.
2.In the medium that is prone to crystallize, the mechanical seal should be frequently flushed. Before restarting after stopping, crystals on the mechanical seal should be cleaned.
3.The mechanical seal of the centrifugal pump should be disassembled carefully if need occurs, and it is not allowed to strike with a hammer or iron, so as not to damage the sealing surfaces of the rotary face and the stationary seat.
4.Before disassembly，remove the dirt on the mechanical seal and rinse it clean to avoid damage to the sealing elements.

5.Before installing, check whether all the sealing elements of the mechanical seal are valid or intact, and if not,repairor replacement work should be done.
6.The relative friction and sealing surfaces of the rotary face and the stationary seat should be strictly inspected, and any minor scratches, bumps and other defects are not allowed. All parts, including pump body, impeller, sealing chamber, etc., should be rinsed clean before assembly. And the rotary face and stationary seat should be carefully wiped with a clean, soft cloth or cotton yarn, and then coated with a layer of clean grease or oil.
7.Deviations are not allowed in the assembly of centrifugal pumps. When tightening screws, tighten them evenly to avoid deflection and mechanical seal failure.
8.The compression amount of the spring should be adjusted to a correct value. After the pump is installed, when the rotor is turned by hand, the master of the hand should feel that the sealing spring has a certain amount of compression, and can rotate briskly and flexibly. If not, it should be loosened appropriately.
9.For the mechanical seal with external flushing, the flushing fluid should be turned on before starting, so that the sealing cavity is filled with the sealing fluid. When stoping, stop the pump first, and then turn off the seal flushing fluid.
