Problems of mechanical seal of high temperature media pump

Taking oil refining industry as an example, at present, globally high-temperature hot oil pumps generally use contact-type bellows single-end mechanical seals. Bellows mechanical seal in China has an average service life of about one year, and about two years out of China. Basically, various measures such as washing and cooling must be adopted (Figure 9-1) to reduce frictional temperature rise and prevent coking, thermal cracking, bellows loss of elasticity, bellows rupture, pump evacuating, seal aging, etc. which may lead to seal failure . For this reason, a large amount of flushing oil and cooling water will inevitably be consumed, resulting in high operating costs (preliminary estimates, the annual operating cost of a hot oil pump for flushing and cooling exceeds 100,000 yuan), large energy consumption, poor sealing reliability, and safety Low and high maintenance cost.
