There is a book in China that not only has fans from all walks of life in various countries around the world, but is also regarded as a classic by the business management of these countries. Such a world-renowned book, how do we, Asinoseal, as a local company, draw nutrition from it in aspect of management experience?
The essence of the war in the Three Kingdoms Era was a melee between warlords to carve up the world, just like modern enterprises carve up the market based on their strength. In this way, the management experience in it also has a lot of reference significance for modern enterprise management employees. Our factory starts the learning journey from this book from the dimensions of strategic decision-making, personnel training, cohesion of people's hearts, and cultural construction.
1. Emphasis on strategy
Dividing the world into three parts are undoubtedly the keynote of the entire historical period of the Three Kingdoms (220-280 AD). Commoner Zhuge Liang amazed Liu Bei, chairman of the Shu Kingdom Group, with an article "Longzhong Dui"(Judgments made in the Longzhong region on the situation and trends of the entire country and the group's short-, mid-, and long-term strategic development plans). After he became the prime minister of the Kingdom of Shu, dividing the world into three parts became the long-term policy of governing the country of the Kingdom of Shu. Coincidentally, Lu Su (the second general manager of the Jiangdong Group) of the Soochow regime had previously proposed a strategic plan to divide the world into three parts, and insisted on uniting Liu against Cao (Cao Cao—the most powerful warlord in the Three Kingdoms period) to govern the country policy. It is precisely because of the correctness of the strategic planning that the Liu Bei Group has continued to grow and develop since then, from only occupying a small area in Xinye to surpassing Soochow at its peak. And Soochow also saved itself in its fight aganist Cao Cao because of its cooperation with Liu Bei Group.
So how did our factory learn from this insight of emphasis on strategy?
Our factory established its own foreign trade company in 2009, and established its own factory building in Zhangjiagang in 2011. This timeline reflects a clear strategic development idea:Start with trade, gain a foothold and then land in industry.
Zhangjiagang is chosen because it is not only a livable city titled by the United Nations, but also adjacent to the two international airports of Wuxi and Shanghai. The transportation is very convenient, which is the best choice for our company's logistics services focusing on air transportation. As for the choice of product strategy, we chose to focus on the development of bellow seals and cartridges seals after the component seals and sealing materials gained a firm foothold. After the mass production of the two, we began to concentrate on the agitator seal, split seal and sealing system. In the end, a product idea was formed that we should have both quantity and emphasis in product varieties.
Recently, under the premise that the overall sales volume has not been affected by the epidemic, our company has actively arranged for the follow-up development strategy of concentrating on pumps and valves. You viewers can have a glimpse of our intentions in strategies from this decision.
